[edit]Via Koine Greek Σολομών (Solomṓn) from Biblical Hebrew שְׁלֹמֹה (šĕlōmōʰ), a Biblical name from Hebrew שָׁלוֹם (šālōm, “peace”); compare Aramaic שְׁלָמָא (šlāmā) and ܫܠܳܡܳܐ (šlomo), derived independently from the original Semitic root.
