From Aramaic פַּאתָא (paʾṯā), from Proto-Semitic *piʔat-; compare Hebrew פֵּאָה (pe'á), Akkadian 𒊕𒆠 (pūtum) and Arabic فِئَة (fiʔa, group, band).
