[edit]Two possibilities:
- Diminutive of a cognate to Classical Syriac ܥܪܣܐ (ʿarsā, “bed”); compare Hebrew עַרסָל (ʿarsāl, “hammock, sling”).
- From the root ܥ ܙ ܠ (ˁ z l), related to spinning yarn.
Compare Classical Syriac ܥܪܙܠܐ (ʿarzālā, ʿerzālā, “hut”).
