Compare Biblical Hebrew סְנֶה (sənê). If related to Arabic سَنَا (sanā, senna), perhaps from Proto-Semitic *šinn- (tooth).

      ܟܠ ܐܝܠܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܦܐܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܗܘ ܡܬܝܕܥ. ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܩܛܝܢ ܡܢ ܟܘܒ̈ܐ ܬܐܢ̈ܐ. ܐܦ ܠܐ ܡܢ ܣܢܝܐ ܩܛܦܝܢ ܥܢܒ̈ܐ.
