From the root ܝ-ܪ-ܬ (y-r-t), from Proto-Semitic *y-r-ṯ. Compare Hebrew תירוש / תִּירֹשׁ (tîrōš) and Ugaritic 𐎎𐎗𐎘 (mrṯ).
