[edit]Either from Northern Kurdish or ܛܲܝܒܘܼ (ṭaybū), the absolute form of ܛܲܝܒܘܼܬ݂ܵܐ (ṭaybūṯā), from Aramaic טַיבּוּתָא (ṭaybūṯā) with a shift from /ṭ/ to /č̣/. (This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.)
