Etymology
[edit]Learned borrowing from Classical Syriac, from Aramaic כַוְתָא (kawwǝṯā); compare the same in Arabic كُوَّة (kuwwa) and Hebrew כַּוָּה (kawwā́). Doublet of the native form ܟܲܘܹܐ (kawwē).
