[edit]From ܚܨܝܦܐ (ḥaṣṣīp̄ā(ʾ), “bold”), from the root ܚ-ܨ-ܦ (ḥ-ṣ-p) related to being bold + the abstract noun ending -ܘܬܐ (-ūṯāʾ). Compare Hebrew חֲצִיפוּת (ḥăṣīp̄ūṯ).
