From Aramaic זִפתָּא (zip̄tā), possibly borrowed from Akkadian 𒍣𒅁𒌈 (zi-ib-tum /⁠ziptu, zibtu⁠/); related to Hebrew זֶפֶת (zéfet) and Arabic زِفْت (zift).
