From Akkadian 𒂟𒁉𒇻 (/⁠zanbilu, zabbilu⁠/). Compare Arabic زَنْبِيل (zanbīl) and زِبِّيل (zibbīl), Hebrew זְבִיל (zəḇîl) and Old Armenian զամբիւղ (zambiwł).
