ܓ ܡ ܥ (g m ˁ)

Of the noun pattern 1i22ō3ā. Though neither Assyrian Neo-Aramaic nor Classical Syriac attest the meaning “to swallow” in the verb ܓܵܡܹܥ (gāmēˁ), thus is the usage of גמע in some varieties of Aramaic. This noun then may trace back to an archaic meaning of the root.
