From Aramaic אַרְנְבָא (ʾarnəḇā), from Proto-Semitic *ʔarnab-; compare Turoyo ܐܱܪܢܘܘܐ (ärnuwo), Arabic أَرْنَب (ʔarnab), and Hebrew אַרְנָב (arnáv).
