[edit]Univerbation of یڭی (yeñi, “new”) + بهار (bahar, “spice”), so called across languages because it was grown suddenly as an allrounder and widely from the end of the 18th and to the beginning of the 20th century, back then German Neugewürz, Modegewürz and still Slovak nové korenie.
