[edit]Verbal noun of پَچھاݨنا (pachāṇnā, “to recognize”), from inherited from Prakrit 𑀧𑀘𑁆𑀘𑀳𑀺𑀬𑀸𑀡𑀇 (paccahiyāṇaï), from Sanskrit प्रत्यभिजानाति (pratyabhijānāti). Cognate with Urdu پَہْچان (pahcān).
