      wa-qālū lan nuʔmina laka ḥattā tafjura lanā mina l-ʔarḍi yanbūʕan
      And they say, "We will not believe you until you break open for us from the ground a spring."
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 39:21:
      أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللّٰهَ أَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَسَلَكَهُ يَنَابِيعَ فِي الأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُ بِهِ زَرْعًا مُّخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَانُهُ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَاهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُ حُطَامًا إِنَّ فِي ذٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَى لِأُولِي الأَلْبَابِ
      ʔalam tara ʔanna llāha ʔanzala mina s-samāʔi māʔan fa-salakahu yanābīʕa fī l-ʔarḍi ṯumma yuḵriju bihi zarʕan muḵtalifan ʔalwānuhu ṯumma yahīju fa-tarāhu muṣfarran ṯumma yajʕaluhu ḥuṭāman ʔinna fī ḏālika la-ḏikrā li-ʔūlī l-ʔalbābi
      Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky and makes it flow as springs in the earth; then He produces thereby crops of varying colors; then they dry and you see them turned yellow; then He makes them debris. Indeed in that is a reminder for those of understanding.
