Vize district

Etymology

From Ancient Greek Βιζύη (Bizúē), the ancient capital of the Asti tribe. The name propably shares the same Thracian root of other placenames like Βῡζᾰ́ντῐον (Būzántion) and Βῑσᾰ́νθη (Bīsánthē).
