Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *bērgü (“something which ought to be, or is, given”),[1] a derivation from *bēr- (“to give”), whence ویرمك (vermek, “to give”). Cognate with Azerbaijani vergi and Crimean Tatar vergi.
