[edit]Borrowed from Aramaic נָטוֹרָא / ܢܳܛܘܰܪܐ (nāṭōrā, “watchman”), originally borrowed as a field-guard in agriculture. Doublet of نَاظُور (nāẓūr, “field glasses”).
