Inherited from Middle Persian *hamēšag-wahār, whence also Classical Syriac ܡܝܫܓܒܗܪ (myšgbhr), ܡܝܫܟܒܗܪ (myškbhr), ܡܫܟܒܗܪ (mškbhr).

By surface analysis, همیشه (hamēša) +‎ بهار (bahār).
