Usage notes

There are three ways to refer to teachers in Uyghur:

  1. مۇئەللىم (mu'ellim) can be used for both male and female teachers. This can be used both indirectly and directly.
  2. مۇئەللىمە (mu'ellime) can only used for female teachers, and it is not commonly used.
  3. ئوقۇتقۇچى (oqutquchi). This can only be used to refer to teachers indirectly, but not directly to them.
