- a kind of shabrack or saddle-pillow made of silk, or other silk blankets
- 7th century CE, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Buḵāriyy, 78:246:
- وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ، عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ – أَوْ قَالَ حَلْقَةِ الذَّهَبِ – وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ، وَٱلدِّيبَاجِ، وَٱلسُّنْدُسِ، وَٱلْمَيَاثِرِ.
- wa-nahānā ʕan sabʕin, ʕan ḵātami ḏ-ḏahabi – ʔaw qāla ḥalqati ḏ-ḏahabi – wa-ʕan lubsi l-ḥarīri, wa-d-dībāji, wa-s-sundusi, wa-l-mayāṯiri.
- And he forbade us seven things: to wear golden signets – or golden rings – to wear silk, silk brocade, fine silk or silk saddle-pillows.
