Adjective

[edit]

مُهْتَدٍ (muhtadin) (informal مُهْتَدِي (muhtadī), feminine مُهْتَدِيَة (muhtadiya), masculine plural مُهْتَدُون (muhtadūn), feminine plural مُهْتَدِيَات (muhtadiyāt))

  1. active participle of اِهْتَدَى (ihtadā)
    1. rightly guided, following the right path
      • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 107:5:
        مَن يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُ وَلِيًّا مُّرْشِدًا
man yahdi l-lahu fahuwa al-muhtadi waman yuḍlil falan tajida lahu waliyyan muršidan
Whoever Allah guides is truly guided. But whoever He leaves to stray, you will never find for them a guiding mentor.
