- (intransitive) Don’t move! stop! freeze!
- مَكَانَكَ أَيُّهَا اللِّصُّ!
- makānaka ʔayyuhā l-liṣṣu!
- Stand there, thief!
- 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 10:28:
- وَیَوۡمَ نَحۡشُرُهُمۡ جَمِیعࣰا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِینَ أَشۡرَكُوا۟ مَكَانَكُمۡ أَنتُمۡ وَشُرَكَاۤؤُكُمۡ ۚ
- wayawma naḥšuruhum jamīʕan ṯumma naqūlu lillaḏīna ʔašrakū makānakum ʔantum wašurakāʔukum
- ˹Consider˺ the Day We will gather them all together then say to those who associated others ˹with Allah in worship˺, “Stay in your places—you and your associate-gods.
