Etymology

Plural of معروض (maruz), from Arabic مَعْرُوض (maʕrūḍ), passive participle of عَرَضَ (ʕaraḍa, “to appear, happen, show”). By the end of Ottoman times the singular and plural had diverged in meaning.

     Muhterem efendiler: Şimdiye kadar, vuku bulan maruzatım, şahsen ve heyeti temsiliye namına, temas ettiğim vakıa ve hadisatın izahına matuf idi.
