Derived from the active participle of أَعْجَزَ (ʔaʕjaza).

مُعْجِز (muʕjiz) (feminine مُعْجِزَة (muʕjiza), masculine plural مُعْجِزُونَ (muʕjizūna), feminine plural مُعْجِزَات (muʕjizāt))

  1. active participle of أَعْجَزَ (ʔaʕjaza)
  2. that which disables (the opponent, etc)
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 6:134:
      إِنَّ مَا تُوعَدُونَ لَآتٍ وَمَا أَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ
      ʔinna mā tūʕadūna laʔātin wamā ʔantum bimuʕjizīna
      Indeed, what you have been promised will certainly come to pass. And you will have no escape.
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 46:32:
      وَمَنْ لَا يُجِبْ دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ
      waman lā yujib dāʕiya l-lahi falaysa bimuʕjizin fī l-ʔarḍi
      And whoever does not respond to the caller of Allah will have no escape on earth.
