    • 7th century CE, Muwaṭṭaʾ Mālik, section 9:
      أَأُصَلِّي فِي عَطَنِ الإِبِلِ (…) لاَ وَلَكِنْ صَلِّ فِي مُرَاحِ الْغَنَمِ.
      “Can I pray at the camels’ water-place?” (…) “No, but you can pray in a sheep-pen.”
