  1. to kill
    • c. 1100, al-Aʕmā al-Tuṭīlī, Kharja A5 :[1]
      بر ڧي نو ڧرش ياللَّه متَّار
      bərqəy nū qariš bi-llāhi məttāri
      Why, by God, don't you want to kill [me]?
    • c. 1100, ibn al-Rafiʕ Raʔsuh, Kharja A32 :[2]
      بون بلاش متار او لحت
      būn bi-lāšī mattāri awšaktu

  • For Kharjas A5 and A32, Corriente reads ⟨mttār⟩ and ⟨mtār⟩ respectively, taking them to represent a Mozarabic mattáre.[3]
