Etymology

From كوف (küf, “mold, mildew”) +‎ ـلنمك (-lenmek, suffix forming passive infinitives from stems ending in front vowels).

Verb

كوفلنمك • (küflenmek)

1. (intransitive) to grow moldy, to become covered with mold
2. (intransitive, figuratively) to suffer from long neglect or trouble
