Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kepelek (“butterfly”); cognate with Azerbaijani kəpənək, Bashkir күбәләк (kübələk), Kazakh көбелек (köbelek), Kyrgyz көпөлөк (köpölök), Turkmen kebelek, Uyghur كېپىنەك (këpinek) and Uzbek kapalak.
