[edit]Etymology
[edit]Unknown. Compare Northern Kurdish kelep’ûr (“inheritance; anything acquired at no cost (e.g., as inheritance); anything acquired dishonestly at no cost”), Central Kurdish کەڵەپوور (kełepûr, “things left for relatives after the death of a relation; cheap, free (of charge)”). The /kele/ may point to a Kurdish origin, which is a prefix giving sense of maleness, (compare کەڵەشێر (kelleşêr, “rooster”), کەڵەگا (kellega, “stud; bully”), kelejin (“manly woman”)...), the /por//pûr/ may be in the sense of son (as it is in pispor, from Proto-Iranian *puθráh) giving the sense of inheritance left to a son.
