[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kēkir- (“to belch”); cognate with Azerbaijani gəyirmək, Bashkir кикереү (kikerew), Chuvash какӑр (kak̬ăr), Kazakh кекіру (kekıru), Kyrgyz кекирүү (kekirüü), Turkmen gǟgirmek, Uyghur كېكىرمەك (këkirmek), Uzbek kekirmoq and Yakut кэҕэрт (keğert).
