[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kerpič (“brick”);[1] cognate with Azerbaijani kərpic, Bashkir кирбес (kirbes), Karakhanid كَرْبِجْ (kerbic, kerpiç), Kazakh кірпіш (kırpış), Southern Altai кирпич (kirpič) and Uyghur كىرپىچ (kirpich).
