[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kïrbāka, a development of *b(i)āka (“frog”); cognate with Azerbaijani qurbağa, Kazakh құрбақа (qūrbaqa), Turkmen gurbaga and Uzbek qurbaqa.
