Etymology
[edit]From Aramaic קָקוּלָא / ܩܳܩܘܽܠܴܐ (qāqullā), from Akkadian 𒋡𒄣𒌌𒇻𒊬 (qa-qu-ul-lu.SAR /qāqullu/) of like meaning, likely from early Middle Indo-Aryan (compare Sanskrit कक्कोल (kakkola), तक्कोल (takkola)) and ultimately of Malayo-Polynesian origin, for more see Chinese 豆蔻 (MC duwH xuwH).
