عَاذَ (ʕāḏa) I (non-past يَعُوذُ (yaʕūḏu), verbal noun عَوْذ (ʕawḏ) or عِيَاذ (ʕiyāḏ) or مَعَاذ (maʕāḏ))

    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 40:27:
      وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُم مِّن كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ
      waqāla mūsā ʔinnī ʕuḏtu birabbī warabbikum min kulli mutakabbirin lā yuʔminu biyawmi l-ḥisābi
      But Moses said, "Indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Account."
