From سونكر (sünger, “sponge”) +‎ ـلنمك (-lenmek, suffix forming passive infinitives from stems ending in front vowels).

سونكرلنمك • (süngerlenmek)

1. to become a sponge or like a sponge
2. to become possessed of sponges
3. to become coated with growing sponges
