See first paragraph for س و د (s w d) in Lane on the coordination with the pattern فُعْلَل (fuʕlal), as if the root was originally س ء د د (s ʔ d d), an augment of س د د (s d d); particular to certain hamza-featuring dialects like that of the Banī Ṭayyʾ.
