خَفَقَ (ḵafaqa) I (non-past يَخْفُقُ (yaḵfuqu) or يَخْفِقُ (yaḵfiqu), verbal noun خَفْق (ḵafq) or خُفُوق (ḵufūq) or خَفَقَان (ḵafaqān))

  1. to beat, to whip
    خَفَقَ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِنَعْلِهِ
    ḵafaqa l-ʔarḍa binaʕlihi
    He struck the ground with his sandal.
    خَفَقَتِ ٱلْبَيْضَ
    ḵafaqati l-bayḍa
    She beat the eggs.
