[edit]From Ottoman Turkish تَكیه (tekye), from Classical Persian تَکْیَه (takya), Arabicized as if it were from root ت ك ي (t k y) using the pattern فَعِيلَة (faʕīla) with plural فَعَالَى (faʕālā) (like هَدِيَّة (hadiyya), plural هَدَايَا (hadāyā)).
