     چون که هیزم باز گیری نار مرد
     ز انکه تقوی آب سوی نار برد

     čōn ki hēzum bāz gīrī nār murd
     za anki taqwā āb sōy-i nār burd

     When thou withholdest the faggots, the fire dies out,
     because fear of God [piety] carries water to the fire.
