بیلهجك
Appearance
Ottoman Turkish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]An evolution of the original Byzantine Greek name Βηλοκώμη (Bēlokṓmē), probably a compound of Bulgarian бял (bjal, “white”) + -о- + Ancient Greek κώμη (kṓmē, “village”). It should be assumed that this was one of the Serbian settlements in this region, since the original Greek name would have produced a form like Vilegüme or Veligöme in Turkish.
Proper noun
[edit]بیلهجك • (bilecik)
- Bilecik (a city and province in East Marmara region, Turkey)
