Inherited from Prakrit 𑀪𑀽𑀫𑀺 (bhūmi), from Sanskrit भूमि (bhū́mi, earth, ground), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *bʰúHmiš (earth), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰuH- (to be). Doublet of بھوئیں (bho'īṉ).
