  1. for the sake of, because of
    • 7th century C.E., Kašf al-Ḵafaʾ wa-Muzīl al-Ilbās, Hadith:
      أَنَا أَفْصَحُ العَرَبِ بَيْدَ أَنِّي مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ وَنَشَأْتُ فِي بَنِي سَعْدٍ
      ʔanā ʔafṣaḥu l-ʕarabi bayda ʔannī min qurayšin wanašaʔtu fī banī saʕdin
      My speech is the most clear among Arabs, for I'm from Quraysh and I grew up in Bani Sa'd.

    • هُوَ كَثِيرُ المَالِ بَيْدَ أَنَّهُ بَخِيلٌ
      huwa kaṯīru l-māli bayda ʔannahu baḵīlun

      نَحْنُ الآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ بَيْدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ
      naḥnu l-ʔāḵirūna s-sābiqūna yawma l-qiyāmati bayda ʔannahum ʔūtū l-kitāba min qablinā waʔūtīnāhu min baʕdihim
      We are the latter, but the day of resurrection we will be first, even though they received the Scripture before us, and we received it after them.
