From بـ (bi-, in, with) + a component related to Arabic نَوْبَة (nawba), maybe specifically the sense "time, instance, occurrence". If so, then probably formed in a similar way to North Levantine Arabic بالمرة (bi-l-marra), which contains مرة (marra, (a) time, instance).
