بنوب
Appearance
North Levantine Arabic
[edit]Alternative forms
[edit]- منوب (mnōb)
Etymology
[edit]From بـ (bi-, “in, with”) + a component related to Arabic نَوْبَة (nawba), maybe specifically the sense "time, instance, occurrence". If so, then probably formed in a similar way to North Levantine Arabic بالمرة (bi-l-marra), which contains مرة (marra, “(a) time, instance”).
