[edit]Inherited from Apabhramsa उन्हाल (unhāla), उण्हाल (uṇhāla) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit उष्णकाल (uṣṇakāla). Cognate with Gujarati ઉનાળો (unāḷo), Marwari उन्हाळो (unhāḷo), Marathi उन्हाळा (unhāḷā), and Punjabi ਹੁਨਾਲਾ (hunālā).
