[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *üskür- (“to cough”); cognate with Azerbaijani öskürmək, Chuvash ӳсӗр (üs̬ĕr), Khakas [script needed] (üskür-), Salar üksir and Turkmen üsgürmek.
