[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *ögren- (“to learn”); cognate with Azerbaijani öyrənmək, Bashkir өйрәнеү (öyrənew), Chuvash вӗрен (vĕren), Kazakh үйрену (üirenu), Kyrgyz үйрөнүү (üyrönüü), Turkmen öwrenmek, Uyghur ئۆگەنمەك (ögenmek) and Uzbek oʻrganmoq.
