  1. (intransitive) to hastely rise
    • 14th Century, anonymous author, Dresden Manuscript: Kitāb-ı Dedem Ḳorḳud Alā Lisān-ı Tāife-i Oġuzān:
      اورلشبن صولر طاشيه دكز طولمز
      örläşübän sular daşsa däŋiz dolmaz
      [even] if the rising waters spilled the sea wouldn't fill up
