  1. to receive [with accusative or بِ (bi) ‘something’, along with مِنْ (min) or عَنْ (ʕan) ‘as a substitute/in compsentation for something else’]
    اِعْتَضْتُ مِمَّا فَقَدْتُ بِشَيْءٍ جَدِيدٍ.
    iʕtaḍtu mimmā faqadtu bišayʔin jadīdin.
    I received a new thing as a substitute for what I lost.
