Etymology

Inherited from Chagatai [Term?], from Karakhanid [Term?], from Proto-Turkic *adak (foot). Cognate with Turkish ayak, Azerbaijani ayaq, Turkmen aýak, Uzbek oyoq, Kazakh аяқ (aäq), Kyrgyz аяк (ayak), Khalaj hadaq etc. Doublet of ئاياق (ayaq).
